Tomb Raider Lara Croft Returns Netflix series in production

Netflix has announced an animated series for Tomb Raider Lara Croft Returns, which acts as a sequel to the latest game trilogy. However, it is not yet known when we will be able to see the series. How will Lara Croft’s adventures continue after the current game trilogy? We find out in an animated series that will be shown on Netflix.

Lara Croft’s new adventure

Netflix said on Twitter, “The video game’s most iconic heroine will be animated! Tomb Raider is a new anime series from
Legendary that follows Lara Croft’s adventures following the events of the video game’s reboot trilogy.” More is currently not known about this series. We don’t know when it will come or what exactly the stories will be about. Basically, the current trilogy represents the prehistory of the long-lasting game series. The adventures make Lara Croft the person we know from the other games.

Therefore, after the end of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, there will be plenty of opportunities to tell stories about Lara Croft’s other adventurers. There are still many secrets to be found in the world. The adventurer will probably have to deal with supernatural opponents again – unlike in the latest film, which was based on the events of the first game from the current trilogy but left out the supernatural elements. The planned sequel is probably going a similar way.

What this series means for the future of games is unclear. But actually, there is nothing against letting Lara Croft experience adventures in the series as well as in potential new games. It is not yet known whether and when another part will appear. We can look forward to the animated Netflix series as soon as it starts on a date that has not yet been announced.
